But how many channel groups can you have? At the moment, DSTV allows you to have 5 channel groups. They are in addition to the default All Channels and My DSTV Channels groups.

Why add DSTV channels to your favorites list?
The example given above was made using the Explora 3b. It’s the second latest Explora after the Explora Ultra. Having said that, these steps should be similar for all Explora decoders. They should also work for DSTV HD.
But why would you bother adding channels to a favorites list on DSTV? It’s something to which we have already alluded. DSTV has a lot of channels, over 154 of them. It makes it difficult for anyone to navigate through these channels.
That’s particularly the case if you have signed up for the full bouquet. You will have all the channels that are offered by DSTV. It can be overwhelming to try and sift through all of them.
It’s way better to group your channels according to your favorites. As an example, you can have one group that is composed of Sports channels. You will then name that group Sports.
You can have another group that’s composed of movie channels. You will call this group of favorites Movies. It’s also possible to group HD channels together.
If you have been watching HD channels, particularly on a big screen, it will become somewhat painful to watch SD channels. The picture quality will be severely degraded. So, if you wish to only watch HD channels, you can group them together for easy navigation.
