A lot of people across South Africa have been getting Openview decoders over the past few years. It’s a great alternative to DSTV. You don’t have to fork out monthly payments. My Openview Says no Channels
After carrying out a factory reset on your OVHD decoder, you need to scan for channels. Otherwise your channel list will be empty. The following is the solution to the OVHD no channels after factory reset issue;
- Press on the menu button on your OVHD remote.
- Open Settings. You can do this by scrolling to it on the screen and pressing on Ok on your remote.
- Now you need to open Installation.
- You are required to enter a Parental pin code. That’s 1234.
- Go to Channel search and press on Ok.
- Press Ok one more time. Your decoder will now start looking for channels.
- Wait a couple of minutes as the decoder finds and saves the channels.
- When the process is complete, you should now be able to see all the Openview channels in your channel list.

My question is. I have reboot my open view. Then i use a guide menu it ends saying. I must go back to installation then satellite management SES-5. WHAT CAN I DO ?
Hi. OVHD uses the IS20 satellite so make sure that that is selected. They have stopped broadcasting on the SES-5 satellite. So, go back to installation, then satellite management then choose IS20 instead of SES-5
My ovhd is5 years old. Now it requires a factory reset on a daily basis. Why?
It’s probably time to get a new one.
No Channels – I have followed the instructions accordingly as stipulated above after the factory reset. Now under Settings then installation I pressed OK but it doesn’t show as if it’s scanning and still at zero percent after 30 minutes. I don’t know what to do. Please any advise will be welcomed to resolve this.
Hmmm. You may need to find an installer near you for help.
