What does CEO of a company stand for?
CEO stands for Chief Executive Officer. They are usually the person holding the most important position at any given company. Consequently, the CEO will be the highest paid person at a company. This comes with it’s burdens, however, since they are ultimately responsible for everything that happens at the company.
The following are some of the responsibilities of a CEO;
- Coming up with strategic plans for a company. These plans are long term. The CEO helps define strategic goals. The company as a whole will then strive towards the attainment of these goals.
- The CEO acts as a business’ ambassador to the outside world. They represent the company at important functions. In other words, the CEO is the face of the company.
- They can also be responsible for finding funding for the company’s operations. In some instances, they will help with allocation of these functions to various sections within the organization.
- The CEO is responsible for managing the leadership team at a company. Depending on the size of the Organization, they may have a number of senior managers reporting to them. People who report to the CEO may include the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and many others.
