What are the Rain unlimited off peak data times? Rain has been growing in popularity across South Africa over the past few years. Part of this popularity is the fact that the country’s sole data only mobile network offers what is termed the 19 hours unlimited off-peak for any device data package. If you have signed up for this package, you may be interested in learning the Rain night data times.
Rain Unlimited Night Data Times
The Rain unlimited off peak night data times start at 11pm and end at 6pm. That means you have 19 hours of usage every single day for the entire month. As you can see, the Rain off-peak hours are rather friendly. They are not limited to the middle of the night, as is the case with all the other networks in South Africa.
How much is unlimited off-peak data on Rain?
You can add the unlimited off-peak data option to your Rain SIM for R250. For that, you get a total of 19 hours of unlimited off peak browsing per day.
If you wish to use data during peak hours on this package, you will have to set a maximum limit at R50 per GB. So, you could set your Gig limit at 5 gig.
In that case, you will have to pay an additional R250. Payment at the end of the month will depend on how much you will have used.
Unlimited data is the way to go
Most of the networks in South Africa offer unlimited off-peak browsing in one form or the other. That includes Telkom, Vodacom, Cell C and MTN.
Based on the information that we have gathered, Rain is the most generous of the lot. With them, you are essentially getting off-peak browsing for most of the day.
As you can see, unlimited browsing ends at 6pm. It means between 8 am and 6pm you will be enjoying off peak browsing. That’s the time when most people need data the most.
With the other networks that are out there, off peak browsing is only available in the dead of the night, when most people are asleep. That’s not very practical.
Is this enough?
Knowing the Rain unlimited off peak data times is well and good, but is this enough data for most people. Well, that depends on how you use your data. The beauty of this package is that you are flexible in how you set up your bundles.
You have 19 hours of off-peak usage. During peak hours, you can set your own limits. The challenge that we have noted is that peak hours, which run from 6pm to 11pm, are the very times when most people need to stream Netflix, YouTube and other stuff.
In other words, they are the times in which much in terms of entertainment for the whole family happens. So, if you go for this bundle, you could end up paying way more than you would have had had you chosen another bundle that does not have the off-peak usage limit.
Summary
In this post, we gave you the Rain unlimited off peak data times. We noted that Rain is very generous in this regard. You are essentially off-peak during the times when it matters the most.
Their off-peak hours run between 11pm and 6pm. So, throughout the day, their peak hours only run for about 5 hours. That’s great.
