Is it necessary to configure the APN on my router?
APN is short for Access Point Name. It’s the name of the gateway through which you get internet. Without the correct APN settings, you won’t get internet connectivity. So, yes, it’s very necessary to configure the APN settings on your router.
If you got your router as part of the deal from Cell C, it will come with the APN already set up. So, you don’t have to worry about anything. However, if you bought a SIM only, you will need to configure things to start getting connected to the internet.
Once that is done, we advise you to test your internet speed. Is Cell C living up to expectation? That’s always something good to know. Your network needs to provide the kind of speeds that were promised. Otherwise, you won’t be getting your money’s worth.
