Do you wish to learn how to make your Rain network faster? Rain is probably the most popular data network in South Africa at the moment. By some estimates, they have been gaining thousands of users every day. However, all has been been rosy for the company and its users. If you go online, you will come across people complaining about performance on the network. We have an article in which we talked about how to cancel a Rain account. That article gets hundreds of hits per day. But before you take the drastic step of cancelling, you may wish to learn how to boost your Rain internet’s speed. Is that even possible?
How to boost Rain network speed
The following is how to make the Rain network faster;
- You can boost your Rain network speed by optimizing your connection through the Rain website. In order to do that, simply log into your account. Once logged in, click on Manage and then go to Optimize my signal. You will see a list of nearby Rain towers. You will also see the location of your router on the map. What you need to do is to choose a tower that’s nearby and one that is unobstructed. Note, however,8 that the nearest tower is not always the optimal one, so try them all out to find one that offers the best speed.
- Also make sure that your router is placed in the best place. Search around your home or office and test out various spots to try and get the best signal. Something that’s all you need to give yourself a boost.
- Another thing that you can do should you suddenly encounter speed issues on Rain is to restart your router. As is the case with all electronics, a simple restart resets everything on the device and its possible that this will give you a performance increase.
Why does Rain have connectivity issues?
That’s how to make the Rain network faster. But what’s behind these issues in the first place? Why have so many people been encountering connectivity issues when it comes to both Rain 4G and Rain 5G?
There are many issues behind this. One problem is that Rain has been growing so much that there is simply too much congestion on the network. Too many people are trying to connect at the same time, thus overwhelming the network.
Another issue appears to be the fact that Rain routers are constantly switching between towers. That can be problematic in that there will be no stability. We have encountered people who say their speeds have been oscillating between very high and very low. Choosing a fixed position can be the solution.
