A lot of people take this route. Cell C contracts usually run for a 6,12,18 or 24 months. But when you take a CellC contract, what happens at the end of the contract period?
What to expect upon expiry of your CellC contract
According to Cell, what happens when your contract expires is that the contract will now run on a month to month basis. Let’s assume, as an example, that you have a 24 month contract with Cell C.
At the end of 24 months, if you take no action, the contract will expire. You will now be moved over to a per month contract. However, you will lose the promotional pricing that you may have been enjoying all along.
What options do you have?
That’s what happens when your Cell C contract expires. So, what options do you have relating to your contract? The following are the options that are available to all CellC customers;
- You can choose to renew your contract with the company. This is what a lot of people do. If you are happy with your current contract, you can renew it.
- Next, it’s possible for you to cancel your Cell C contract when it expires. That’s what people who are unhappy with their current contracts usually do. Cancelling your contract means you will be ending the relationship with Cell C. You won’t have to pay a penalty, since cancellation will be happening at the end of the agreed upon period.
- It’s also possible for you to get a different contract from Cell C. Again, this is an option that many people take. Perhaps you got a shiny phone as part of the current contract. But that phone is now old and obsolete. So, getting a new one is great.
Summary
That’s the answer to the question, what happens when my Cell C contract expires. If you take no action, the contract will now run on a monthly basis.
It’s advisable, however, to either renew or cancel the contract before it’s expiry. If the contract is moved to a monthly basis, you won’t continue to enjoy any promotional pricing that you may have had all along.
