Do you wish to find the Vodacom contract cancellation email? Vodacom, like all the other mobile networks in South Africa, offers customers a wide range of devices, data and airtime on contract. In fact, millions of Vodacom customers are on contract. The appeal lies in being able to get a phone, tablet or computer on credit. This allows people to make monthly payments for periods of up to 24 months. That’s an attractive proposition. However, you may have realized that the contract is not really for you. Now you wish to cancel via email. Where do you send your cancellation letter?
Email address for cancelling your Vodacom contract
The Vodacom contract cancellation email address as given on the company’s Facebook and Twitter is retentions.cancellations@vodacom.co.za. However, this email address does not work. If send a message to the above address, you will get the error in the above screenshot.
We reached out to Vodacom on Twitter about this issue. Their response was helpful, but not in the way that we wanted. They told us that it’s possible to engage them on various platforms, including on Twitter about any issues that we may have had.
They also noted that there are a couple of other alternatives to the Vodacom contract cancellation email address. We give these alternatives below.
Other options for reaching out to Vodacom for cancellations
That’s the Vodacom contract cancellation email address. But what other options do you have when it comes to ending your contract with Vodacom?
Well, you have the option of using the Vodacom contract cancellation number. Just call them and tell them that you wish to end the relationship.
It’s also possible for you to walk into a Vodacom shop to have your cancellation processed. That’s probably the best option because you won’t be shouting to people over the phone.
Another option is to reach out to them on Twitter. They are very responsive on the platform. Send them a message and they will respond within a few minutes.
What happens next?
Once you have reached out to Vodacom telling them that you wish to end your contract, what happens next? Well, one thing to note is that you should never sign any contract lightly.
It’s not really cheap to cancel your Vodacom contract. Depending on how far along you are in the agreed upon term, you may have to pay over ten thousand dollars in cancellation fees.
That’s because Vodacom does not take back the gadget that you got as part of the contract. You need to actually pay for it in full. You also get charged a cancellation penalty.
For estimates on what you can expect to pay, here is a Vodacom contract cancellation fee article. We have examples in there of what others who cancelled were asked to pay. This is information that you should have before you even look for the Vodacom contract cancellation email address.
Why cancel?
There are several possible reasons why you could have decided to put an end to your contract with Vodacom. Maybe you have realized that you cannot really afford the monthly payments. But keep in mind that you will still need to pay the penalty for cancellation.
Another possible reason is if you have decided that another offer elsewhere is better than the one you currently have. Maybe you wish to get an MTN contract.
Or maybe you are no longer that enchanted by that shiny new phone that you previously thought was on top of the world.
